Idol In The Skye | Junior Idol - 2nd Round
Our goal is to encourage up and coming local talent to pursue their dreams of performing. Contestants compete each week as they work with a live band and a packed house in The Platinum Room. Industry professionals are on hand throughout the competition to critique and mentor contestants.
Here are a few reminders for ALL our singers:
1. Find songs that are best for your voice. Listen to material until you find a song that fits your vocal range and personality.
2. Ooze charisma. Popularity as a singer increases with personality. If you have as much (or more) charisma as singing technique, you'll have a better chance to win over judges and audience members at SKYE.
3. Hire a singing coach. There seems to have been a spike in the number of teachers and an experienced coach will help you choose the right song and focus on impressing the judges.
4. Be original. Copying another singer's style won't work in a singing competition. You have to wow the judges and the audience with your own approach.
5. Emote. No matter how good your singing voice may be, no one will be moved to vote for you if you don't show emotion.

BEACH SHIRTS ARE WELCOME AND A LAID BACK ATTITUDE IS MANDATORY.

Escaped | The Ultimate Journey Experience
Guaranteed to please, the Escaped tribute will no doubt leave Journey fans feeling as if they had just attended an actual Journey concert from back in the 80's. From the soaring vocals of Steve Perry and the singing guitar work of Neil Schon to Jonathan Cain's classic red grand piano and Steve Smith's massive drum set, this band doesn't miss a thing. The members of this unbelievable lineup are keyboardist extraordinaire Greg Ansel, smokin' hot guitarist Rick Clausen, Drum/percussion professor David Schreck, master bassist Rick Travis and introducing Lou Piccadaci, Steve Perry incarnate frontman/lead vocalist. The show consists of music from the albums Infinity to Trial by Fire, playing such hits as Don't Stop Believing, Separate Ways, Open Arms, Faithfully, Wheel in the Sky and many more.
For the die hard Journey fan this is a must see event.

Javier Colon | Winner of NBC's "The Voice"
In fact, that heart is precisely why he captivated America as winner of the inaugural season of NBC's hit television show, The Voice. It's why he never gave up on his dream of a career in music even in the face of numerous setbacks and what seemed like endless adversity. It's why every time he writes a song, it strikes a chord. It's also why when the world hears his forthcoming 2011 debut album, Come Through For You, on Universal Republic Records, they will feel it.
Notified of the chance to audition for The Voice in early 2011, Colon took the opportunity. He'd been fighting for another record deal for five years to no avail and wasn't sure about what the next step would be. Almost canceling the audition due to other show commitments, he decided to go anyway. "I'm glad I went because The Voice was the best thing that's happened up to this point in my career," smiles Colon. "I really try to put everything I am into my songs and performances. I never expect anything, and winning was a shock. I was one-hundred percent happy that I'd simply gotten to the final four contestants. When Carson Daly announced I was the winner, I was elated and I couldn't believe it. I'm very thankful."
